Inspiration or plain copy?? Friends recently sent me pictures of different @hermes airport shops in Japan and Korea. Compare the pics to my artwork from 2016 and feel free leave a comment . As an artist i really have a problem with working with brands and big companies. I basically refuse to work with them when i can t identify with their products or their ethics. There are cases where I might get tempted to do so. For example i would think about a collaboration if a company helps me to create a project which i can t produce on my own. I would also think about it if a corporation offers an extra bag of money so that i can support other projects i care for. But besides that i would just say "no thank you" Its actually really not flattering to see my works being reused for the background of boutique displays. To bad designers that are working for big corporations are willing to rip of artists like that. Luckily there are people which help to remind them @glucklawfirm

jetmar1 100% with you. It’s not a compliment, it’s straight thievery. That’s why companies like, oh, say, hermes, are so crazy about protecting their brand and tm. Sorry man. Next comment is on hermes’ page...

charlestillman Wait a minute... Hell no. I saw this and thought it was a straight-up 1010 piece. I’m livid. I’ve been following you for 5 years. 😤 This is definitely not acceptable, 1010.

_rcontreras Of course its a copy. But a copy is always flattering in my eyes. If you are being copied is because you are doing something good. I would be more worried if nobody gives a f**k about my work as an artist. Maybe you have too many followers... i think is on you to find a way to make sure they don't do it without any compensation. I mean, don't you think progress is possible because someone copied or got inspired by slmething that already existed? ... for sure i can't imagine a world with just one one brand of everything because it was someone's creation

armadiller Its also pretty demeaning to your work as i see it. Im not gonna divulge at all but if i saw this in the store i would think less of your work. Its so tacky and dead end when used to boost a product nobody needs which was made with the sweat of children for pennies. Im sure it will correct itself, youre too good for these knock offs to pass as anything close to something youd approve of.

einesigns That’s a total rip off @hermes @hermes_community as a brand that works closely with artists I would imagine it’s a creative director taking advantage rather than Hermes. But still you need to get PAID.
